Dr. Basel Hajjar

Diplomat of American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Basel Hajjar received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry 1998.  He completed advanced education in General Dentistry at Columbia University, in New York. In 2005, Dr. Hajjar completed a Residency in Periodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry and The Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Hajjar researched Implant bone types in Human Mandible at Indiana University from 2002-2005 and earned his Master Degree in Dental Science. He is on staff at Methodist Hospitals, Southlake and Northlake Campuses. Dr. Hajjar is an Assistant Professor for IUNW. He is Diplomat of The American Board of Periodontology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, The Indiana Dental Society, and The Northwest Indiana Dental Society. He is licensed to practice dentistry in Indiana and Illinois.

Dr. Basel Hajjar has two children and lives in Crown Point, Indiana.

 


Dr. Samer Sabbagh

Dr. Samer Sabbagh, an Illinois native, is a dedicated periodontist based in NWI that earned his degree in Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University in 2019 and Master of Science and Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Kentucky in 2023. As a detail-oriented specialist, Dr. Sabbagh prioritizes patient comfort as he consistently implements the most effective, reliable, and latest techniques in periodontology and implantology with his patients. To achieve the best possible end result, he works closely with referring dentists to provide each patient with a customized treatment plan that supports their unique needs and goals. 
 
Dr. Sabbagh is committed to excellence and makes every effort to stay on top of current developments in his field. To that end, he maintains the highest levels of accreditation and is currently working towards becoming a board-certified periodontist. While he performs a wide variety of procedures, he is best known for his calm demeanor, bone, soft tissue and sinus grafts, and implant placement.
 
When he’s not at the office, Dr. Sabbagh enjoys spending time with his family,  playing tennis with his friends, and learning more about international relations.  


Dr. Gene M. Ranieri

Dr. Gene M. Ranieri received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loyola University in 1975. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He returned to Loyola University for his Specialty Residency in Periodontics, which he completed in 1979. Dr. Ranieri has been in the Private Specialty Practice since that time and over thirty years in Northwest Indiana.

Dr. Gene Ranieri has served Dentistry in many capacities. He is the past President of Northwest Indiana Dental Society. He continues to serve that society for the past thirty years as a member of The Board of Directors,  Delegate to Indiana Dental Society, and Founder of Northwest Indiana Foundation for Dental Education. Dr. Ranieri is a member of the American Dental Association where he served as a National delegate for NW Indiana, American Academy of Periodontology, Indiana Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Midwest Society of Periodontics. He has been inducted into The American College of Dentists and International College of Dentistry.

Dr. Ranieri is extensively involved in Dental Education. He has been a professor at Loyola University School of Dentistry, University of Oregon Health Science Center, Indiana University Northwest, and currently Adjunct Professor at Indiana School of Dentistry, where he has lectured in the Doctorate and Post-Doctorate Programs for the last fifteen years. Locally he is the Founder and Director of Dental Study Club of Northwest Indiana. This Club provides ongoing continuing education for its 50 members. He also directs two Affiliate Study Clubs which provides continuing Education for New Dental Graduates and over one hundred Dental Hygienist in Northwest Indiana.

Dr. Gene Ranieri and his wife Maureen have two children and have been married for over 30 years. Dr. Gene Ranieri currently retired in August of 2023. However, he is working as an consultant with dentist's and patients in Northwest Indiana.
